Dr. BHABENDRA NATH SAIKIA
Dramatization and Direction
Study and detail analysis of Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia’s stories is a tough task. And the Exploration of these stories on the stage is equally challenging.
The simplicity of the language used, the depth of feelings, the close study of human mind that are present in his stories has attracted me since my childhood.
In one word, the play production AKASH is an attempt of self-analysis. Because as human beings, we are covered by various images, logic (rational irrational), and masks. And tactfully these elements are hidden for various self-created reasons.
The protagonist of the play Mr. Choudhury is not a self-centered person but is surely a common self-conscious person with modern thoughts. Through out the play, he discovers gradually the minute elements of own nature and these discoveries leaves a deep impact on the audience.
The pleasure and entertainment amidst the tensions surrounding human life through simple and comical presentation is the purpose of the play production.
